ABU DHABI – UAE air defence systems on Friday intercepted seven ballistic missiles and 27 unmanned aerial vehicles launched from Iran, authorities confirmed.

The interceptions come as the country continues to respond to repeated aerial attacks since the onset of the current escalation.

Defence systems remain on high alert, with authorities monitoring the regional security situation closely.

Latest Interceptions

According to official figures, the UAE’s air defence systems successfully engaged and destroyed the incoming threats before they could reach their intended targets.

Since the onset of what officials described as blatant Iranian aggression, UAE air defence systems have intercepted a total of 285 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles and 1,567 unmanned aerial vehicles.

The interceptions reflect the scale of the aerial threats faced during the ongoing period of regional tensions, with defence forces continuing to track and neutralise incoming projectiles and drones.

The attacks have resulted in six fatalities, involving Emirati, Pakistani, Nepali and Bangladeshi nationals.

Authorities also reported 141 minor to moderate injuries among individuals of multiple nationalities.
